Mojca makes her Vienna Staatsoper debut in Der Rosenkavalier

This month, Mojca stars opposite Renée Fleming and Sophie Koch in her Vienna Staatsoper debut in Der Rosenkavalier starting October 20. As the ingénue Sophie in Richard Strauss’s wistful and bittersweet masterpiece, Mojca completes the work’s central love triangle between Sophie, Octavian (Koch), and the Feldmarschallin (Fleming). The performance will be webcast by the Vienna Staatsoper on October 27.

“Mojca Erdmann’s Sophie has a beautiful, silvery fragility,” wrote the Financial Times of the German soprano’s performance of the role in Stuttgart in 2009. She also reprises the role this season at the Metropolitan Opera in November and December.
