Mojca Erdmann to return to Metropolitan Opera next season in Der Rosenkavalier

Next season Mojca Erdmann will return to the Metropolitan Opera as Sophie in Richard Strauss’s beloved and bittersweet comedy Der Rosenkavalier. The German soprano, who earlier this season delighted audiences at the Met in Le nozze di Figaro, appears opposite Elīna Garanča as Octavian, Martina Serafin as the Marschallin, and Peter Rose as Baron Ochs. Edward Gardner conducts these performances of Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, whose return to the repertory next season marks the 100th anniversary of the work’s New York premiere.
