Summer performances take Mojca Erdmann to Salzburg Festival, Hamburg, Paris, and beyond

With a successful run in Don Giovanni at Madrid’s Teatro Real in full swing, German soprano Mojca Erdmann looks ahead to an exciting summer of performances with leading orchestras, ensembles, and music festivals.

From June 6 to 9, Mojca will appear as guest soloist with the NDR Sinfonieorchester at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, singing the music of Johannes Brahms and Johann Strauss. From Germany, Mojca then heads to France to join the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, in Paris on June 25 at the Saint-Denis Festival and in Toulouse on June 27, as featured soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and in the “Et incarnatus est” from Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor.

On August 17 Mojca switches settings from orchestral to chamber, performing works for soprano and string quartet with the Kuss Quartet at Switzerland’s Sion Festival. In addition to singing Schumann’s Six Melodies, Mojca continues her championing of 20th century music with performances of Schoenberg’s dark and vigorous Second String Quartet. Later that month Mojca reunites with her frequent collaborator Gerold Huber for an August 21 recital in Vilabertran, Spain.

Mojca wraps up her summer on August 24 with a performance at the esteemed Salzburg Festival. The concert spotlights living composers and will feature an astounding twelve world premieres inspired by twelve sculptures created as part of the Salzburg Art Project. Mojca, who continues to devote herself to the premiering of new works, will perform alongside the Scharoun Ensemble under the baton of Matthias Pintscher.
