Mojca to sing Stravinsky’s Le rossignol with Kölner Philharmonie
Apr 23, 2012
This May, Mojca Erdmann stars in a concert performance of Igor Stravinsky’s Le rossignol with the Kölner Philharmonie. Based on the eponymous tale by Hans Christian Andersen, Le rossignol was composed during a time when Stravinsky was writing some of his most famous ballet scores for Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes. In the opera, Mojca portrays the fantastical Nightingale, whose magical song haunts and transforms its listeners. Finnish conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste leads an international cast, the WDR Rudfunkchor Köln, and the Kölner Philharmonie in concert performances on May 11 and 12.
