Winter in Germany, France, Austria, Japan, and Finland

This winter finds Mojca in performance across Europe as well as Tokyo. On December 21, she joins Concerto con Anima and Chor des Bach-Vereins Köln at the Kölner Philharmonie for Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium, appearing with fellow soloists Ingeborg Danz, Simon Bode, and Erik Sohn.

Later that month, the German soprano appears twice at the Konzerthaus Berlin. On New Year’s Eve, she performs selections from Der Freischütz, Die Fledermaus, and La bohème with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and conductor Markus Poschner in a gala concert that also features an appearance from Thomas Quasthoff. The following day, Mojca rings in 2014 with the same ensemble, reprising her aria from Der Freischütz and also performing a selection from Mozart’s Zaide.

The beginning of January features recitals at the Strasboug Opera du Rhin (January 4), Musikverein Graz (January 8), and the Oper Frankfurt (January 14) with pianist Malcom Martineau. On the program, Mojca will sing lieder by Strauss, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Wolfgang Rihm, Aribert Reimann, and more. On January 25 and 26, she joins conductor Fabio Luisi and the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo for Orff’s towering Carmina Burana.

February 7 sees Mojca with Pablo Heras-Casado and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Helsinki, following which she returns to Munich. There, she reprises her acclaimed Sophie in Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier at the Bayerische Staatsoper March 2–14.
