2012-2013 Season Announced
Highlights of Mojca Erdmann’s 2012-2013 season include a debut at the Teatro Real Madrid, a return to the Metropolitan Opera, and recital tour programs across Europe. As her new season begins this summer, Mojca sings Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte alongside Mexican tenor Rolando Villazón at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. This performance, conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, will be recorded by Deutsche Grammophon for future release.
After making her 2011 house debut in Don Giovanni, Mojca returns to New York’s Metropolitan Opera in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro this fall. She portrays Susanna alongside Christine Schäfer as Cherubino, Gerald Finley as Count Almaviva, and Ildar Abdrazakov as Figaro. The German soprano will reprise her Susanna with a series of performances at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden in May 2013. Next spring, Mojca will make her debut at the Teatro Real Madrid with performances of Don Giovanni in April 2013.
Away from the opera stage, Mojca presents a diverse range of repertoire — both familiar as well as contemporary — in concert, chamber, and solo settings. Her upcoming season includes collaborative concerts featuring the music of Handel and Strauss with violinist Renaud Capuçon and pianist Jérôme Ducros, as well as a variety of performances in September 2012 at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, where the soprano will showcase the work of Mozart, Schubert, Rihm, and Reimann. In addition, Mojca will appear with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra for the very first time with a concert in Prague this December.
